Nagapattinam: A case of kidnapping and violation of the Juvenile Justice Act was registered on Sunday against the director of a home from where 27 children from Manipur were rescued on Friday,the police said.Henry Einstein (40) alias Paramasivam,who was running the Bethel Development Trust in Akkur Madappuram near Mayiladuthurai in Nagapattinam district,was absconding,police added.
The police said they registered a case based on a complaint from the district child welfare committee and have sent a four-member team in search of Henry.The case has been registered under IPC sections 365 (kidnapping),344 (wrongful confinement),420 (cheating) and section 23 of the Juvenile Justice Act (punishment for cruelty to child) at Sembanarkoil police station on Sunday.By the time the officials prepared themselves to lodge a complaint,Henry was absconding.He is not in the village.We have sent a team to Karaikal where we suspect him to be hiding, said a police official.We wanted to complete the probe before lodging a complaint, said V Venkatraman,probationary officer,district social defence department,hoping that Henry would be nabbed soon.The children,aged between 5 and 12,including nine girls,were rescued from the home run in a rented house at Akkur Madappuram and were sent to government homes at Tiruchi and Thanjavur.Henry,a local,had managed to get contacts through missionary sources and went to Manipur in 1992,where he married a local girl.He then started the trust.Seven months ago,he shifted to Mayiladuthurai,allegedly fearing violence in Manipur.He was attempting to get government approval when the presence of the children came to light.
During the probe by welfare department officials and child welfare committee members,Henry claimed he was not involved in trafficking.The children were left in his custody by their parents,he maintained adding that he had the affidavits by their parents.Henry had also said he had sent a person to Manipur to get those affidavits.
We are planning to bring translators who are well versed in Manipuri from Chennai to interact with the kids and determine if they were abused.After obtaining their family details,we will find their parents through the Child Welfare Committee in Imphal and hand the children over to them, said Venkatraman.
Henrys home had raised suspicion in the locality since the kids were from the northeast.
However,he had maintained he was bringing them up away from their native land infested with extremists.

SC orders probe into trafficking of NE kids

NEW DELHI: Following reports of 76 children from Assam and Manipur, most of them minor girls, being rescued from "homes" run by missionaries in Tamil Nadu, the Supreme Court on Wednesday ordered a probe into a possible trafficking racket involving tribal children.

The Tamil Nadu police, in its affidavit before the SC, said, "Pastor Shaji was arrested at Somanur in Coimbatore district on February 12 and remanded to judicial custody. Effective steps are being taken to nab the absconding accused Rev Paul."

A Bench comprising Chief Justice K G Balakrishnan and Justices Deepak Verma and B S Chauhan accepted amicus curiae Aparna Bhat's suggestion for a probe into the matter. The National Commission for Protection of Children's Rights will carry out the probe.

Additional solicitor-general Indira Jaising said the TN police had not detailed the facts of the case to the court. "How could these children be taken more than 1,000km away without anyone noticing anything," Jaising asked.

New Delhi: With growing suspicion of the involvement of missionaries in trafficking innocent tribal children,a majority of them minor girls,from the north-east to the southern states,the Supreme Court has ordered a probe.
Concerned by the preliminary reports from the Tamil Nadu police,which rescued 76 children belonging to Assam and Manipur from homes run by missionaries,the court on Wednesday asked the National Commission for Protection of Childrens Rights (NCPCR) to get to the bottom of this alleged scam.
The TN police,in a affidavit before the SC,said,Pastor Shaji was arrested at Somanur in Coimbatore district on February 12 and remanded to judicial custody.Effective steps are being taken to nab the absconding accused Rev Paul.
A Bench,comprising Chief Justice KG Balakrishnan and Justices Deepak Verma and BS Chauhan,accepted amicus curiae Aparna Bhats suggestion for a thorough probe into the alleged incidents of trafficking from the NE states.
Additional solicitor general Indira Jaising pointed out that the TN police had not detailed the facts of the case to the court.This is a federal issue as children are trafficked from far-flung tribal areas of NE states to down south.How could these children be taken more than 1,000km away without anyone noticing anything Jaising asked and supported a probe by the NCPCR to unearth the alleged racket.
When the ASG said the matter had to be probed indepth as a majority of the children appeared to be girls as could be inferred from the sketchy police report,the Bench issued notices to the Manipur and Assam governments seeking their response to the serious issue of trafficking.
In his affidavit,the superintendent of police,Kanyakumari district,informed the apex court that on a tip-off,the child welfare inspection committee visited Bethesda Blessing Ministries Home at Pazhavilai,Kaliyakkavilai,run by Pastor Shaji and found 76 children living in squalid conditions.

Effective steps on to nab absconding pastor,cop tells SC

New Delihi: Concerned by the preliminary reports from the Tamil Nadu police,which rescued 76 children belonging to Assam and Manipur from homes run by missionaries,the the Supreme Court on Wednesday asked the National Commission for Protection of Childrens Rights (NCPCR) to conduct a probe into the issue.
The Kanyakumari SP informed the SC that all the children belonged to the Zeme tribe in Manipur and Assam and that Rev Paul belonged to the same community.Due to poverty,parents of these children entrusted them to Rev Paul on the promise that he would provide better education and healthcare to them, the SP said.
At the time of taking the children,Rev Paul collected Rs 5,000 from each of the parents for expenses, he said.
Giving details of the manner in which these children were brought to TN,the police officer said,Rev Paul brought them from Manipur and Assam to Chennai in 2008.Initially,they were accommodated in Alice Rebecca Matriculation School,Red Hills,Chennai,then they were taken to Kerala and finally handed over to Pastor Shaji during the year 2009.
Mentioning the arrest of Pastor Shaji,the SP said,Effective steps are being taken to nab the absconding accused,Rev Paul.Only after arresting him,we can get more information about the transportation of children. He said the 76 minor children were sent back to their native places on February 11 and had since been united with their family.
However,amicus curiae Bhat drew the courts attention to another report on the rescue of 17 more Manipuri children by the police in Chennai on March 27.The Bench said there could be a possibility that these organisations were bringing children from the NE to the southern states to impart education as they must be receiving huge donations in this regard.Everything may not be legal in this, the Bench added.
But Jaising said whether it was for education,labour or sexual exploitation,illegal trafficking of children had to be stopped and no one had any business in uprooting them from their family without their consent.

காய்ச்சல் நெருப்பாய் கொதித்த 3 மாத ஆண்குழந்தையைத் தூக்கிக் கொண்டு கிருஷ்ணகிரி அரசு மருத்துவ மனைக்கு வந்தார் பேரிகை கிராம ராமக்காள்.

சாதாரண காய்ச்சல்தான் என்று ஊசியைப் போட்டு மாத்திரைகளையும் கொடுத்து, “”பயப்படாமல் ஊருக்குப் போங்க” என்றார் டாக்டர்.

ராமக்காள் ஆஸ்பிடலில் இருந்த அந்த ஒருமணி நேரத்தில், அன்பாக பாசத்தோடு பழகினார் தீக்காய வடுக்கள் நிறைந்த ஒரு பெண்மணி. ராமக்கா வோடு பஸ் ஸ்டாண்ட் வரை வந்த அந்தப் பெண்மணி, ராமக்கா ஏமாந்த நேரத்தில், 3 மாத ஆண் குழந்தை யோடு எஸ்கேப்பாகி விட்டார்.

மகனைப் பறிகொடுத்த ராமக்காள் பஸ் ஸ்டாண்ட் முழுக்க அலறிவிட்டு, காவல்நிலையத்திற்கு ஓடினார். கொஞ்சம் கூட தாமதிக்காமல், குழந்தையை கண்டுபிடிக்க, ஸ்பெஷல் டீமை அமைத்தார் எஸ்.பி. பாபு.

கை, கால், முகமெல்லாம் தீக்காய வடுக்கள் நிறைந்த சுமார் 40 வயதுப் பெண்மணி பற்றி, மருத்துவமனை ஊழியர்களிடம் விசா ரித்தபோது, “”ஆமாமா… கிருஷ்ணகிரி டவுன் பகுதியில இருக்கு அந்த பொம்பளை… அடிக்கடி யாரையாவது பார்க்க வரும்… பெயர் தனலட்சுமி!” என்றார்கள்.

மறுநாள் காலையில் தனலட்சுமியை இழுத்து வந்தார்கள். “”இவள்தான் சார்… இவளே தான்…!” ராமக்காளும் அடையாளம் காட்டி னார். வகையாக மாட்டிக் கொண்ட தனலட்சுமியால் உண்மையை மறைக்க முடியவில்லை.

“”எனக்குச் சின்ன வயசிலேயே கல்யாணம் ஆச்சு. முதல் புருஷன் வேலு சரியில்லை. கிருஷ்ணகிரி கிருஷ்ணனோட சேர்ந்து வாழ்ந்தேன். அவன்தான் மண் ணெண்ணெயை ஊத்தி என்னை கொளுத்தினான். தீக்காயங்களுக்கு வைத்தியம் பார்க்கிறதுக்கு சென்னை பெரம்பூர்ல தங்கியிருந்தப்பதான் மூலக்கடை மதுரை சாமிமடம் ஏரியா கிரிஜா பழக்கமானாங்க.

“பணத்துக்கு ஏன் கஷ்டப்படுறே… வருமானத் துக்கு நான் வழிகாட்டுறேன்… குழந்தை இல்லாம ரொம்பபேர் தவமா தவ மிருக்காங்க. குழந்தைகள் கிடைத்தால் எனக்குப் போன் பண்ணு, வந்து ரக சியமா வாங்கிட்டுப் போறோம்… ஆண் குழந் தைனா 10 ஆயிரம் தர்றேன்… பெண் குழந்தைனா 5 ஆயிரம் தர்றேன்’னு சொன்னாங்க… நல்ல தொழிலா தெரிஞ்சது… கிருஷ்ண கிரி ஆர்.எஸ்.லட்சுமிபுரம் தெரு செல்வராஜோட ஆண் குழந்தை தேவா… விளையாடிட்டு இருந்தான். நான் தூக்கின முதல் குழந்தை அவன்தான். அவனுக்காக 10 ஆயிரம் கொடுத்தாங்க கிரிஜா. அந்தக் குழந்தையை விழுப்புரம் மணியிடம் விற்றதா சொன்னாங்க. “இனிமே திருட வேண்டாம், கிருஷ்ண கிரி மாவட்டம் காவேரிப்பட்டினம் ஆஸ்பத்திரியில் வருஷத்துக்கு 800 டெலிவரி நடக்குது. அங்கேயிருந்துதான் தொட்டில் குழந்தைத் திட்டத்தில அதிக குழந்தைகளை போடுறாங்க. ரொம்பக் குழந்தைங்க முறைகேடா பிறக்கிற குழந்தைகள். அந்த ஆஸ்பத்திரியில நர்ஸ்கிட்ட பழகி, அப்படிப்பட்ட குழந்தைகளை கொண்டு வா’னு சொன்னாங்க கிரிஜா. அப்போதிருந்து தான்… நர்ஸ் ராணியோட உதவியால நிறையக் குழந்தைகளை கொண்டு போனேன். அப்படித்தான் ஈஸ்வரி யோட 10 நாள் ஆன குழந்தையையும் கிரிஜாவிடம் கொடுத்தேன் !” -இப்படி வாக்குமூலம் கொடுத்த தனலட்சுமி… கோர்ட் வாசலில் மயங்கி விழுந்து விட்டாள்.

“”குழந்தைகளை நான் திருடலை. தொட்டில் திட்டத்தில போட நினைக்கிற பெற்றோர்கிட்ட உங்களுக்கு எதுக்கு கஷ்டம்… நானே தொட்டில் மையத்தில போடுறேன். அல்லது ஓசூர் ஆனந்தா ஆஸ்ரமத்திலே சேர்த்து விடுவதாகச் சொல்லி குழந்தைகளை வாங்கி தனலட்சுமியிடம் கொடுத்தேன். தனலட்சுமி கிரிஜாவிடம் கொடுத் திருக்கு!” ஒப்புதல் வாக்குமூலம் கொடுத்த காவேரிபட்டினம் நர்ஸ் ராணி அப்ரூவராக மாறியிருக்கிறார்.

சென்னை மூலக்கடை, மதுரைசாமி மடம் ஏரியா கிரிஜாவையும் கும்பலையும் எப்படி தூக்குறது?

“”ஒரு குழந்தை கிடைத்திருக்கு… எங்கே கொண்டு வர என்று கேள்!” தனலட்சுமியை மூலக்கடை கிரிஜாவுக்கு போன் போடச் சொன்னார்கள் போலீசார்.

“”கொண்டு வா… கொண்டு வா… என் வீட்டுக்கு வரக்கூடாது. பெரம்பூர் ரயில்வே ஸ்டேஷனுக்கு வா!” சந்தோஷத்தோடு சொன்னார் கிரிஜா.

தனலட்சுமியை கூட்டிக் கொண்டு சென்னை புறப்பட்டது கிருஷ்ணகிரி ஸ்பெஷல் டீம். பெரம்பூர் ரயில்வே ஸ்டேஷனில் காத்திருந்தார்கள். எதிர்பார்த்த படி, கிரிஜாவும் கணவர் சிவாவும் இவர்களின் கையாளான ராணியக்காவும் ஆட்டோவில் வந்து இறங்கினார்கள். தனலட்சுமியோடு கிருஷ்ணகிரி போலீசாரும் சென்னை திரு.வி.கநகர் இன்ஸ்பெக்டர் பிரகாசும் வந்திருப்பதைப் புரிந்து கொண்ட மூவரும் ஓடத் தொடங்கினார்கள். “”புடி… புடி…” என்று விரட்டித்தான் மூவரையும் பிடித்தது போலீஸ்.

அடுத்த ஒரு மணி நேரத்தில் பாதிரியார் அல்போன்ஸ் சேவியரையும் செல்வம் என்பவரையும் அள்ளிக் கொண்டு வந்தார்கள். கிரிஜாவுக்கு துணையாக குழந்தை வியாபாரம் செய்தவர்கள் இவர்கள் என்று எல்லாரையும் கிருஷ்ணகிரிக்கு கொண்டு சென்றார்கள்.

“”ராமக்கா மகனையும், பெயிண்டர் செல்வராஜ் மகன் தேவாவையும் கண்டுபிடிச்சிட்டீங்க. இன்னும் 6 குழந்தைகள்தான் தனலட்சுமி மூலம் எங்ககிட்ட வந்தன. 18 மாத கலாபிரியாவை பாண்டிச்சேரி பாடசாலைத் தெரு ஆரோக்கியம்மாளிட மும், 40 நாள் ரேகா பிரியா வை கடலூர் மாவட்டம் வரகால்பட்டி பரிமளாவிட மும், ஒரு வயது விஜயகிருஷ் ணனை பாண்டிச்சேரி அனையாகுப்பம் அம்சவதியிடமும், 42 நாள் பெண் குழந்தை ஒன்றை பாண்டிச்சேரி ராமகிருஷ்ணாநகர் லலிதாவிடமும், இரண்டரை வயது சிவாவை பண்ருட்டி பாளையம் லதாவிடமும், ஒரு வயது அஜய்யை சென்னை பெரம்பூர் சங்கீ தாவிடமும் கொடுத்திருக்கிறோம்!” கிரிஜாவும், அவர் கணவர் சிவாவும், இவர்கள் கையாள் ராணியக்காளும் வாக்குமூலம் கொடுக்க… குழந்தைக் கடத்தலில் முதன்முறையாக கிரிஜாவையும் கும்பலையும் குண்டர் தடுப்புச் சட்டத்தில் உள்ளே தள்ளியிருக்கிறது போலீஸ்.

மறுநாளே 6 குழந்தைகளையும் மீட் டார்கள்.

கிரிஜாவைப் பற்றித் தெரிந்து கொள் வதற்காக, சென்னை மூலக்கடை மதுரை சாமிமடம் தெருவில் களமிறங்கினோம்.

“”பதினைஞ்சு வருஷம் முன்னாடி இந்த ஏரியாவுக்கு வந்தாங்க கிரிஜாவும் புருஷன் சிவாவும். ஆட்டோ ஓட்டி பிழைச்சாங்க. கிரிஜாவோட வயசுக்கு வந்த பொண்ணை வியாசர்பாடி ரவுடி ஒருத்தன் கூட்டிட்டு ஓடிட்டான்… அதில இருந்துதான்… கிரிஜா வுக்கு ரவுடிகளோட தோஸ்த் அதிகமாச்சு. ஒருதரம் ஏதோ சந்தேக கேஸ்ல வில்லிவாக்கம் ஸ்டேஷனுக்கு கூட்டிப் போய் விசாரிச்சுட்டு விட்டாங்க. ஏரியா குழாய்ல தண்ணி வர லைனா… ரேஷன் பிரச்சினைனா… ஏதாச் சும் பொதுப் பிரச் சினைனா முன்னாடி நிப்பாங்க கிரிஜா… போலீஸ் கூட கிரி ஜாவைப் பார்த்து பயப்படும்… அவ்வ ளவு போல்டான லேடி… எப்பப் பார்த்தாலும் செல்ஃபோன்ல பேசும்… ரியல் எஸ் டேட் தொழில் பண்றதாவும் தமிழ்நாடு முழுக்க புரோக்கர் களை தெரியும்னும் சொல்லுவாங்க… 9 வரு ஷமா குழந்தை திருடுற தொழிலைத்தான் செஞ்சாளா…. ராஜரிக சேவா மையம்… அது, இதுனு புதுசு புதுசா போர்டு மாட்டிட்டு இந்த தொழிலைத்தான் செஞ்சாளா? திரு.வி.க. நகர் தோழர் கோடீஸ்வரனோட குழந்தை பிரகாஷ் காணாமல் போயிட்டான்… இவ ளுங்கதான் கடத்தியிருப்பாளுங்க… கொஞ்சம் கேட்டுச் சொல்லுங்க!” -அந்தப் பகுதியில ஏழெட்டுப் பேர் சொன்ன தகவல்கள் இவை.

கிருஷ்ணகிரியில் எஸ்.பி.பாபுவைச் சந்தித்து, குழந்தை கடத்தல் கும்பல் பற்றிக் கேட்டோம்.

“”ஒரு குழந்தைக்காக ஸ்பெஷல் டீம் போட்டோம். 8 குழந்தைகளை இதுவரை மீட்டிருக்கிறோம். அதிக குழந்தைகள் பாண்டிக்கு கடத்தப்பட்டிருக்கிறார்கள். அங்கிருந்து பிரான்சுக்கு கடத்தியிருக்கலாம். எக்கச்சக்க நம்பர்களை செல்ஃபோன்ல ஸ்டோர் பண்ணி, தமிழ்நாடு முழுக்க ரொம்ப பேர்ட்ட தொடர்ந்து பேசியிருக் கிறார்கள். பெரிய நெட் ஒர்க்… டிரேசவுட் செய்து கொண்டிருக்கிறோம். குழந்தைகள் வளர்ப்பதற்காக விற்பனை செய்தார்களா? குழந்தைகள் உடல் உறுப்புகளுக்காக இதை செய்தார்களா?

டாக்டர்கள் யாருக்காவது இதில் தொடர்பிருக்கிறதா? நிறைய சந்தேகங்கள் இருக்கிறது. குண்டர் சட்டத்தில் அடைக்கப் பட்டிருக்கும் இவர்களை போலீஸ் கஸ்டடிக்கு கொண்டு வந்து விசாரிக்கும் போதுதான் பூதங்கள் கிளம்பும்” என்கிறார் கிருஷ்ணகிரி எஸ்.பி.பாபு.

“குழந்தைகள் காப்பகத்திலிருக்கிற என் பொண்ணையும், என் பையனையும் மீட்டுத்தாங்க ‘ என கதறியழும் வசந்தியின் குரல் யார், யாருக்கோ எட்டியும் தன் கதறலை யாரும் எதிரொலிக் காததால் வசந்தி கடைசியாய் நாடியது நம்மைத்தான்.

கோவை ஒண்டிப்புதூரிலிருக்கும் தாய் வசந்தியை நோக்கி நாம் ஓடோடிப் போன சமயம் கண்ணீரும் கவலையும் பொங்க அமர்ந்திருந்த அந்தத் தாய் தன் இரு குழந்தைகளும் காப்பகத்தில் இருக்கும் கதையை சொல்லத் தொடங்கினார். “”நான் சிவகுமார்னு ஒருத்தர உயிருக்குயிரா காதலிச்சேன். ரெண்டுபேருமே வேற வேற சாதிங்கறதால மத்த வீடுகளைப் போலவே எங்களோட காதலையும் எங்க வீட்டுல ஏத்துக்கல. ஒரு சாயங்கால நேரத்துல வீட்டை விட்டு ஓடிப்போய் நான் அவரைக் கல்யாணம் பண்ணிக் கிட்டேன்.

பெரிசா நாங்க வாழாமப் போனாலும் ஒரு சின்ன வீட்டுல சந்தோஷமா வாழ்ந்தோம். நான் கர்ப்பம் தரிச்சு என் பொண்ணு ஹர்சினிய பெத்தெடுத்தேன். அப்பக்கூட எங்க வீட்டுல யாருமே என்னை வந்து பார்க்கலை. என்னைய வேண்டான்னு வீட்ல இருக்கறவங்க ஒதுக்கி வச்சுட்டாங்க. என் பொண்ணு எல்.கே.ஜி. படிக்கும்போது திரும்பவும் நான் 9 மாசம் கர்ப்பமா இருந்தேன். அப்பதான் என் புருஷன ஒரு திருட்டு வழக்குல போலீஸ் கைது பண்ணிட்டுப் போனாங்க.

வீட்டுக்குப் பக்கத்திலிருக்கிறவங்க “கர்த்தரை ஜெபிச்சா உன் பிரச்சினையெல்லாம் சரியாப்போயிரும்’னு சொன்னாங்க.அதன்படியே சர்ச்சுக்கு போக ஆரம்பிச்சேன். பாஸ்டர் டேவிட் டேனியல்ங்கறவரு ஒண்டிப்புதூர்ல கிங் கிட்ஸ் ஸ்கூல்னு வச்சு நடத்திட்டிருக் காரு. அங்க உன் பொண்ணை விட்ரு. அங்கயிருந்தே படிக்கட் டும். உன் புருஷன் வெளிய வர்ற வரைக்குந்தானே, அதுக்கப்புறம் உன் பொண்ண கூப்புட்டுக்க லாம்’னு சொன்னாங்க. மன சொடிஞ்சு போயிருந்த நானும் அதன்படி செஞ்சேன். ஏதோ பாண்டு பேப்பர்ல பாஸ்டர் கையெழுத்து வாங்குனாரு. அழுது கிட்டே வீட்டுக்கு வந்துட்டேன்.

வருடங்கள் ஓட… ஓட… சிறையிலிருந்து விடுதலையான புருஷன் என்னைய விட்டுட்டு எங்கயோ போயிட்டான்.

வாரந்தவறாம குழந்தைகளைப் போய் பார்த்துட்டு அவுங்களுக்கு வேண்டியதை வாங்கிக் கொடுத்துட்டு வருவேன். இந்த நிலைமையிலதான் இத்தனை வருஷம் கழிச்சு எங்க வீட்டுல இருக்கறவங்களோட மனநிலை மாறுச்சு. என்னைய பெத்தவங்க என்னைய ஏத்துக்கிட்டாங்க. எனக்கும் இப்ப நல்ல வேலை கிடைச்சிருச்சு. என் பொண்ணுக்கு இப்ப 13 வயசு. பெரிய மனுஷி ஆகற வயசு. பையனுக்கு 9 வயசு.

அதனால குழந்தைகளை எடுத்துட்டு வந்து நாமளே வளர்த்துக்கலாம்னு எங்க வீட்ல சொன்னாங்க. ஆசை ஆசையா ஓடிப்போய் குழந்தைகளைக் கேட்டபோது குழந்தைகளைத் தரமாட்டேன்னு சொல்றாரு பாஸ்டர் டேவிட் டேனியல்.

“ஏற்கனவே பாண்டு பேப்பரில் திருப்பி கூப்புட்டுட்டுப் போகும்போது இவங்களுக்கு செலவு ஆன பணத்த குடுப்பேன்னு நீங்களே கையெழுத்து போட்டிருக்கீங்களே’ன்னு பாஸ்டர் சொல்றாரு.

கலெக்டர்கிட்ட குழந்தைகளை மீட்டுத் தரக்கோரி 3 மாசத்துக்கு முன்னால புகார் கொடுத் தேன். எத்தனையோ பேருகிட்ட இதைச் சொல்லியும் முடிவு கிடைக்கலை. எப்படியாவது என் குழந்தை களை மீட்டுத்தாங்க சார்” என்று அழத் தொடங்கி விட்டார்.

நாம் உடனே மாநகர சட்டம்-ஒழுங்கு டி.சி. நாகராஜனிடம் வசந்தியை கூட்டிக்கொண்டு போய் விஷயத்தை சொன்னோம். வசந்தியைப் பார்த்து பரிதாபப்பட்ட டி.சி. நாகராஜன், பி-7 இன்ஸ்பெக்டர் சுந்தரராஜன், எஸ்.ஐ. சரஸ்வதி தலைமையிலான டீமை நம்முடன் அனுப்பி குழந்தைகளை மீட்டுத் தாயிடம் ஒப்படைக்கச் சொன்னார்.

இன்ஸ்பெக்டர் சுந்தரராஜன் அங்கிருந்தே பாஸ்டரை தொடர்புகொண்டு நாங்கள் குழந்தைகளை மீட்டுக்கொண்டு போவதாகச் சொல்ல... “அது எப்படி? பணத்தை வச்சிட்டு அவுங்க அம்மாவ குழந்தைகளைக் கூப்புட்டுட் டுப் போகச் சொல்லுங்க’ என்றவர், “இந்த கேஸ் ஏற்கனவே சமூகநலத்துறையில் இருக்கு. போலீஸ் இதுல தலையிட முடியாது’ என்று போனை கட் பண்ணிவிட்டார்.

நாம் உடனே சமூகநலத்துறையின் உயர் அதிகாரி முருகேசனை தொடர்பு கொண்டோம்.

இரண்டு குழந்தைகளையும் இங்கே கூட்டிக்கொண்டு வாருங் கள் என்று அக்கறையோடு அழைத்தவர், உரிய விசாரணையை நடத்திகுழந்தைகளை அம்மா விடம் ஒப்படைக்க பாஸ்டருக்கு உத்தரவிட்டார்.

நம் முயற்சிக்கு கிடைத்த வெற்றியாய் ஹர்சினியும், பரதனும் தாய் வசந்தியிடம் இருக்க… சமூக நலத்துறையினர் ஒப்புதல் அளித்தனர். பரதன் மகிழ்ச்சியில் துள்ளிக் குதிக்க ஹர்சினியிடம் மட்டும் ஏனோ அழுகைதான் பீறிட்டுக் கொண்டே யிருந்தது.

போலீஸ், சமூக நலத்துறையினர், நாம் என எல்லோரும் ஹர்சினியிடம் விசாரிக்க… “எனக்கு அம்மாவ புடிக்கும். ஆனா நான் விடுதியிலேயே தங்கிப் படிக்கிறேன். எனக்கு இங்கதான் நிறைய ஃப்ரண்ட்ஸ் இருக்கறாங்க. அவுங்கள விட்டுட்டு என்னால வர முடியாது’ என அழுதவளிடம் தாய் வசந்தியோ, “”தங்கம் உனக்கு நிறைய ஃப்ரண்ட்ஸ் இருக்கலாம், எனக்கு நீதாண்டி இருக்கறே ” என்று தாய் வசந்தி சொல்லி அழுதபோதும் கூட ஹர்சினி கூட சேர்ந்து அழறாளேயொழிய எது சரி, எது தவறு என முடிவெடுக்க வயதில்லாத அவளின் தீர்க்கமான முடிவு விடுதியில் இருப்பது என்பதுதான்.

பாஸ்டரிடம் பேசிப் பார்த்தோம். “”முடிந்தால் நீங்களே அவளை கன்வின்ஸ் செய்துகொள்ளுங்கள்” என்று சொல்லிவிட்டு போனை வைத்துவிட்டார்.

காரணம் விசாரித்தபோது… குழந்தைகள் பெயரில் வரும் வெளிநாட்டுப் பணத்தை பாஸ்டர்(!) இழக்க விரும்பாததுதான் என்பது தெரிய வருகிறது.

சின்ன வயதிலேயே அம்மா தன்னை விடுதியில் விட்டுவிட்டுப் போய்விட்டாளே என்ற எண்ணம்கூட இவளை காயப்படுத்தி யிருக்கலாம். ஆனால் என்றைக்காவது ஒருநாள் தன்னைத் தேடி வருவாள் என்ற நம்பிக்கை யோடு பரதனை கட்டியணைத்தபடி நம்மை நன்றிக்கரம் கூப்பி தாய் வசந்தி கண்ணீர் மல்க… நாமும் அங்கிருந்து கிளம்பினோம் சொல்ல முடியாத வலியோடு
